Overview:-

Chemical Engineering is both an art and a science. Chemical Engineers are concerned with the application of knowledge gained from basic sciences and practical experience in the development, design, operation and management of plants and processes for economical and safe conversion of raw materials to useful products.
The Chemical Engineering department was on track in Fall 2005 at the CIIT Lahore campus with the vision of making herself a paradise for Chemical Engineers. To make this dream come true the concept of research based teaching in laboratory performances and conceptual learning opportunities has been adopted. The department combines academics with useful work experience as mandatory elements of the degree requirements.
The first batch of Chemical Engineering has graduated in Spring 2009 engraving the history simultaneously. The Department of Chemical Engineering is aiming global employability of its graduates. To nourish these features in the students highly qualified faculty, potent facilities, knowledge conceiving environment, real time exposure and systematic knowledge transfer tactics are rigorously practiced.
Envisioned hard work has resulted in grading of CIIT at No. 7 by HEC among 114 degree awarding institutions in Pakistan. CIIT aims to be at least among top 500 universities of the world. It is imperative that the precise degree requirements would deliver high quality graduates in accordance with the world class industrial needs which is reflected by recent accreditation by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Brief Introduction of Programs:-
BS (Chemical)
The CIIT Lahore Campus is pioneer in offering semester system based four years bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering. Duration of this degree program is a minimum of eight semesters. Bachelor in Chemical Engineering is a cutting edge competitive degree due to global wide industrial expansion being grasped by this discipline.
Course work in chemical engineering provides balanced training in all aspects of chemical engineering principles and practices. Courses are specifically designed to emphasize fundamentals, with systematic application to the process needs, design & development, operation, simulation & modeling, engineering solutions to ever increasing technological wishful desires. Learning process heavily emphasizes on chemical engineering applications; facilitated by classical amalgamation of Islamic ethics, chemistry, physics, mathematics, communication skills, computer literacy, economics, and management techniques.

MS (Chemical)
The Department of Chemical Engineering has successfully launched graduate
program (Master of Science, MS ) in Fall 2011 to prepare students to tackle the
issues related to process improvement and/or design in local and/or global chemical
or process industry. The graduate program aims to create and disseminate quality
knowledge in a research oriented atmosphere for personal and professional growth.
The strong faculty and excellent facilities of the department have the potential
to provide students with the technical and professional knowledge necessary to develop
their abilities to seek creative solutions to complex problems in their field of
interest. The program is designed to help prepare students for industry, teaching
and research careers, and to meet the need for rigorous and advanced training in
the applied aspects of modern technology. (

PhD (Chemical)
The Department of Chemical Engineering has successfully launched graduate
program (PhD ) in Fall 2011. The graduates of this program will be able to utilize
the principles of chemical engineering for addressing the needs of industry, the
scientific community, and society. The program is intended to disseminate the research
outcomes in the form of industrial solutions, publications and public presentations.
The students equipped with knowledge shall build systematic research based culture
for national development. This would serve sustainable industrial civilization by
chemical processes indigenization and strengthen academic institutional position
by research based leadership. (
